Jewish Celebrations and Traditions
Everyone Welcome!
You are invited to discover and enjoy the warmth of Jewish ‘Celebrations and Traditions’ (this year’s theme) during the special Heritage Open Days in September 2009.
For many generations, the Jewish people have left an imprint wherever they have lived. Through their religion and traditions, visible in architecture, archives, art, cuisine, literature and music, and in the legacy of their contribution to society, they have created a resource of lasting significance.
Once again, historic synagogues and Jewish heritage sites all over the United Kingdom will open their doors to the general public. A few are celebrating landmark anniversaries and some of them will open twice, giving everyone more chances to visit and explore.
The listings in this year’s leaflet feature many new participants across the country, offering even more heritage trails, concerts, displays, exhibitions, talks and other associated events.

Unfortunately the Concert at the West London Synagogue on Wednesday 16 September has been postponed due to the death of Dr. Heinz Samson, whose foundation sponsored the restauration of the organ. For further information contact 020 7535 0298, or l.kamak@wls.org.uk
