Moon on the roof, fairy-tale workshop for children
Luna na strehi, otroška pravljična delavnica

The fairy-tale workshop Moon on the roof will consist of two parts. In the first part fairy-tales from the book "Obesi luno na streho moje palače in druge židovske pravljice" (Hang the Moon on the Roof of My Palace and Other Jewish fairy-tales) will be read, while in the second part of the workshop the participants will create the artistic images of these fairy-tales. The workshop will be lead by Kim Kovac.

Organizator dogodka je pripravil delavnico, na kateri se bodo najprej prebirale pravljice iz knjige Obesi luno na streho moje palače in druge židovske pravljice, v kateri so zbrane pravljice iz bogate zakladnice judovskega ljudskega izročila. Pravljični svet bodo udeleženci delavnice nato prevedli še v likovno govorico. Delavnico bo vodila Kim Kovač.

Organizator delavnice je SEZAM - Združenje staršev in otrok.

Jews settled in Slovenian lands mostly in the 12th and 13th Century. The Jewish population was never numerous, nevertheless the Jews have significantly contributed to the economic and cultural image of the Slovenian medieval towns. After medieval exile the Jews began to resettle in Slovenian lands at the end of 18th Century, while the biggest pre-war Jewish communities lived in Murska Sobota and Lendava. Take a walk down the Jewish Path and Jewish Street in Ljubljana with Klemen Jelincic Boeta, PhD, and learn more about the history of the Jews in Slovenia.

Judje so se na Slovenskem naselili zlasti v 12. in 13. stoletju ter so kljub številčni majhnosti pomembno sooblikovali gospodarsko in kulturno podobo slovenskih srednjeveških mest. Po srednjeveških izgonih so se Judje v slovenskih deželah pričeli ponovno naseljevati ob koncu 18. stoletja, pred drugo svetovno vojno pa je največ Judov živelo v Murski Soboti in v Lendavi. Sprehodite se z dr. Klemenom Jelinčičem Boetu po Židovski stezi in Židovski ulici ter izvedite več o zgodovini Judov na Slovenskem.

Visitors of the EDJC can learn more about known and less known interesting facts from the history of Judaism in Maribor and Slovenia.

Period Jewish Postcards, exhibition opening
Stare judovske razglednice, otvoritev razstave

The exhibition of old jewish postcards from the private collection of Mr. Frantisek Bányai will provide an insight into Jewish everyday life in Central and Eastern Europe in the period 1883 - 1940.

The opening of the exhibition will be honoured by the visit of the representative of the Czech embassy in Ljubljana, and Mr. Frantisek Bányai, president of the Prague Jewish Community.

On display until 11 November 2011.

Razstava izbranih starih judovskih razglednic iz zasebne zbirke Františka Bányaia bo obiskovalcem ponudila vpogled v judovsko življenje, zlasti v osrednji in vzhodni Evropi v obdobju med letoma 1883 in 1940.

Otvoritve razstave, ki bo na ogled do 11. novembra 2011, se bosta udeležila tudi predstavnik češkega veleposlaništva v Ljubljani, in František Bányai, predsednik judovske skupnosti iz Prage.
