European Routes of Jewish Heritage Training Programmes

During the three years of the AEPJ Incubator Project, an annual training will be held at the AEPJ Headquarters in Barcelona, especially designed for managers, directors and project leaders who seek to create a Jewish Heritage Route within the framework of the Council of Europe, as well as for those who are already working on a Route project and want to improve and upgrade their project.

The training is designed and will be carried out by three members of the Scientific Board of the AEPJ:

  1. Dr. Jordi Tresserras, University of Barcelona.
  2. Prof. Yoel Mansfeld, University of Haifa.
  3. Prof. Jeremy Leigh, Hebrew Union College.

Training programmes

The key goals of the European Route of Jewish Heritage are to preserve, promote and keep alive Jewish heritage, to develop tourism around these sites, and to broaden awareness of the cultural richness brought by the Jewish people to Europe.

Two training options are available:

  • During the day, different master classes will take place on the main topics related to the creation, development and sustainability of the projects.

This programme is focused on acquiring the basic tools and support structures for the development of your Jewish Heritage Route.

  • In addition to the one day training programme, we offer extended training for those directors, managers and project leaders who are looking for intensive training and personalised mentoring. This second day will combine individual mentoring and workshops.

This extended programme is limited to 20 projects to ensure its correct functioning, will be focused on workshops and individual mentoring with the Scientific Board with the objective of giving the participants the opportunity to create an individual tailor-made work plan for the following year to implement in their projects.

The main topics that will be worked on the extended version are:

    1. Jewish heritage, models of cultural, educational and tourist development.
    2. Development of transversal networks with stake-holders.
    3. Financial opportunities and development of economically self-sustainable projects.
