Kaltinenai synagogue has an attached Rabbi’s house with the higher east end housing the former synagogue. It now lies abandoned after having last been used for storage in the 1990s. It is of log construction and of rectangular plan. Although modest in size, it incorporates a prayer hall to the east and a women’s gallery. Entrance is through a door in the northern façade. The simple and ordered façade and the openings reflect the movement away from the Historicist style in the inter-war period to one of order and rationalism.
